 I just retried the posted How-To-Repeat and got correct results
 on -current (pkg_add -V shows 20060418).  I am not certain this
 means the problem is permanently fixed or how that might have
 happened, but I see in the CVS logs several recent changes to
 string- and Dewey-handling made to address Coverity reports, so
 maybe one of those nailed it - it did seem it would have to be
 something simple, since there was code there intended to handle
 the case.
 
 Leaving open for the time being - this probably deserves to have
 some regression test developed to make sure the problem is
 really gone and stays gone.
