Synopsis: Gnome Trashcan is always empty

Responsible-Changed-Why:
I just noticed that my trash icon showed files and indeed, opening the
window exposed multiple deleted files. I initially thought it was solved
with GNOME 2.14.0, but it is not. I saw files because my data volume
(/vol/data) had a .Trash-jmmv directory in it with several files.

The regular trash does not work yet, though. However, this opens a path
of investigation, which I'll try to follow in the not-so-distant future.
