 Hello Klaus,
 
 Tks for the inputs.  Are you suggesting I try to compile gcc3-c and 
 gcc-c++ separately and use these to build enigma, leaving out gcc3-f77 
 that did not build?  Am trying meanwhile to build
 lang/gcc34 under Mandrake Linux 10.1.  The build is continuing right now.
