 I applied the patch correctly this time. With 2.95, the build failed with
 the same error as before. With 3.0, gcc-c and gcc-c++ were built, and
 chat/centericq was compiled and installed successfully, though it lasted
 quite some time because of the lack of memory on this box (an Ultra1 with
 64 MB of RAM). Could this lack of memory be the cause of the internal
 compiler error with gcc 2.95 ? There is no message about out of memory
 error in dmesg for me. Anyway, thanks for the help :-).
