 I have retrieved the latest versions by CVS, including version
 
     # $NetBSD: Makefile,v 1.11 2005/02/02 08:23:14 jdolecek Exp $
 
 of pkgsrc/databases/postgresql74-server/Makefile and reinstalled them.
 
 All seems well.  I have only briefly tested it but have nonetheless
 stressed it far more than was previously necessary to provoke the bug.
