When building freetype2 as part of xsrc in the base system, the MKTTINTERP
setting allows to enable the bytecode interpreter for true type font
outlines.

This does not help much, since at the current state of affairs pkgsrc
forces us to install a second version of freetype2, which does not have
this knob.

Try to use truetype fonts.

Add a similar knob to the pkg (or even reuse the same) and/or make the pkgsrc
version of freetype realy optional.
