/etc/rc.d/mountcritlocal does

	(cd /var/run && rm -rf -- *)


PS: BTW, that also kills /var/run/dev.db so /etc/rc.d/sysdb ends up
rebuilding it on each boot.  I guess we should use /var/db/dev.db
