Neither with 2.0 nor with 3.0/3.99 I hadn't any problems with AverMedia
radio/tv card (equipped with 878 chip) - but currently I'm unable to make
use out of this card. An attempt to run xawtv gives "no grabber device
available" message in return (similar messages when trying fxtv or xmradio).

The card is detected and reported at boot-up time. The settings in kernel
config, which _were_ working, are:

bktr* on pci? device ? function ?
radio* on bktr?

Tried this with both generic and compiled by myself kernels (NetBSD 3.1),
as "ordinary" user, and as root. Got anyone similar experiences?
