I also have that problem when I use NetBSD amd 3.0.1 on my
computer with 64 bit intel cpu. I used 2006-Q2. But NetBSD 3.0.1
x86 was no problem, also with Q2. It also didn't find my
soundcard (on the board), a AC 97 realtech. I have the option to
drop hyperthreading in bios, but x86 works fine without me doing
that. OpenBSD x86 does not work on that computer, but their amd
version works nice.
