Well, I think there may well be a definate improvement. I'm doing an `rm 
-rf pkgsrc` and `tar -xzf pkgsrc.tar.gz -C ./p2` simultaneously and 
things are seeming pretty responsive. I'm still seeing small delays in 
some things, but it's no where near as bad.

Are there any plans to tweak the default VM sysctl's a little bit any 
time in the near future?

Is having that BUFQ option enabled likely to lead to data corruption?
