Hi!

Whenever this machine (IBM R51) is not connected to any network device
(hub, switch), the NIC generates a message "wm0 MDIC write timed out".

wm0 at pci1 dev 1 function 0: Intel i82541GI Mobile 1000BASE-T Ethernet,
rev. 0
wm0: interrupting at irq 11
wm0: 32-bit 33MHz PCI bus
wm0: 64 word (6 address bits) MicroWire EEPROM
wm0: Ethernet address 00:11:25:42:eb:c0
igphy0 at wm0 phy 1: Intel IGP01E1000 Gigabit PHY, rev. 0
wm0: MDIC write timed out: phy 1 reg 31
wm0: MDIC write timed out: phy 1 reg 0
igphy0: 10baseT, 10baseT-FDX, 100baseTX, 100baseTX-FDX, 1000baseT,
1000baseT-FDX, auto

What does this mean? Is there a way to keep this message from appearing
whenever this laptop is used a stand alone station.
