Kinda late on this, I'm printing to a Samsung ML-1740, it was very  
cheap after rebate from buy.com, using CUPS and the foomatic  drivers  
for the ML-1720.

I don't have it direct but via a Belkin USB printserver (lpr)  
elsewhere on the LAN.

Works from OSX, Win98, WinXP too.
