Subject: pkgsrc branch vs. current?

I'm in the process of my first "real" NetBSD install, and am still in a
FreeBSD mindset. I'm slightly confused about one aspect of pkgsrc: what's
the actual difference between branches and the current version? I mean, if
I install NetBSD 2.0.2, am I expected to track one particular branch (as
would be the case with OpenBSD), or is it OK to follow CVS head (like in
FreeBSD)?

Thanks,
