An interesting open source project I am aware of is the so called
"Biometric FingerPrint Authentication for BSD/Linux" that can be found
at http://biomark.org.ru/en/hardware/. It claims to support the
Futronic FS-80 fingerprint scanner.

Sourceforge hosts another project "FPS200 USB fingerprint sensor
driver" with the aim to develop drivers for Fujitsu's MBF200 and
Veridicom's FPS200. It may be useful in conjunction with the
"Fingerprint Verification System" by Shivang Patel
(http://fvs.sourceforge.net).

Kind Regards
