err, I honestly wouldn't know if not having a css decoder would cause
the *kernel* to whine, but it wouldn't hurt trying installing
multimedia/libdvdcss. IIRC, xine will pick it up automagically.

You *do* need libdvdcss if you're planning to play copyrighted DVDs
(like rental DVDs), and I wouldn't be overly surprised if your DVD
recorder makes "copyrighted" recordings.
