I've heard from others that gtkpod doesn't work that well.  One friend 
-- a long-time FreeBSD users -- is actually running Windows a fair 
amount now, just to feed his iPod.

There are other issues, too, such as the fact that iPod minis don't 
work as USB disks on NetBSD.  But that's an ancient thread.
