The GNOME-related packages provided on the ISO are used as dependencies or
requirements for other packages provided on the ISO. They can be installed
and used.

Sorry I don't have an immediate answer on where to get ISOs with all the
GNOME environment.

You may also want to look at using the GNOME meta-package at
ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/packages/2.0/i386/meta-pkgs/gnome-2.6.2.tgz
(it should install a complete GNOME).
