I replied off-list, but a summary would probably help - you don't need
to get a boot disk with serial bootblocks, since you can stop the boot
just after the bootload banner and type

  consdev com0

to get the same effect.

Serial port characteristics are 9600bd, no parity, 1 stop bit.
