Hi list,

I am looking for a tool that creates WM menu entries for installed
applications. Something like the 'menu' package in Debian would be fine. I
have searched pkgsrc for menu but it seems that something like this isn't
there. Maybe the menu program can be ported to NetBSD? AFAIK it works like
this:
- Window Mangers / Desktops that want to make use of menus register
themselves with the menu tool- application which want to have menu entries also register with the menu
tool
(both is done via entries in a /etc/menu/xxx.d/ directory)

when the update-menus command is run, it creates menu entries for all
applications in all window-managers that are registered.
This seems pretty flexible and makes consistent system-wide menus in all
window managers.
Has someone ported this tool or is someone working on it? Otherwise I
would try and do this, if there is interest in such tool.
Cheers, Roman
