I am getting tired of trying to install Lire

The thing can process nearly every log including IPF, but 
when I use it, it tells me another library either needs to
be installed or updated. GRRR!

I also have analog-5.32 -- which I think I'll try next.
Has anyone bothered "rolling your own"?
