I'v looked too and havn't found AutoIP implementation.

I can give a bunch of links on different embedded devices which support AutoIP 
:) But no one on dedicated application or UNIX sub-system. This is i'm 
looking for..

BTW Windows and Apple support it natively and AFAIU it's derived from MS's way 
to assign "any" IP when it cannot find DHCP server. Maybe some years ago it 
was just another Mustdie's feature, but today it's quite popular and used by 
different systems.

I can use DHCP and it's of course prefered way but system must work in 
environments where DHCP isn't available.
