I've had this system for a while and it's been running fine. I was
going to add another disk tonight and went back over the disklabel of
the old HD. I noticed something strange.

Let's look at partition a:

8 partitions:
# size offset fstype [fsize bsize cpg/sgs]
 a:   1024000         0     4.2BSD   1024  8192    16
 b:   1024000   1024000       swap
 c:  17783112         0     unused      0     0
 d:  10485760   2048000     4.2BSD   1024  8192    16
 e:   5249352  12533760     4.2BSD   1024  8192    16

# df /
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Avail Capacity Mounted on
/dev/sd0a      495655   285351    185521    60%    /

1024000 sectors * 512 bytes/sector = 524288000 bytes
524288000 bytes / 1024 bytes/kilobytes = 512000 kilobytes

512000 != 495655

What am I missing?

Thomas
