Duuude.. relax.

People trying to encourage you to dump obsolete daemons/protocols are
trying to be helpful.  Take it or leave it.


P.S. Personally, I would consider that box to be in a "compromised" state,
and due for a re-install.  That's your call, though.

P.P.S. If you really want to be nitpicky, I'll answer your question
directly: "telnetd dumps core because you were running it where you
probably shouldn't have been." ;)
