I don't see it mentioned in the (1.6_BETA1) man page, either.  Where did
you see the RCMD_CMD variable mentioned?

(I have been successfully using 'rdist -P ssh' on FreeBSD for some time
now.. I've not yet used rdist at all on NetBSD, though.)
