There's support for alpha and vax in -current i believe.  SMP works with 
i386 but you have to patch your source with the sommerfeld_i386mp_1 
branch.  I haven been paying much attention to tech-smp, but last time I 
checked, the problem was compiling a working kernel without MP support 
(with sommerfeld_i386mp_1).  But I'm not really sure...
