	I'd be inclined to stick with CVS - you should be using the -d -P
	options to update (or havd a .csvrc that contains 'update -d -P'),
	that will prune the empty directories automatically after a cvs
	run.

	The other option which avoids any network usage:
		cd .../pkgsrc
		rm -rf */*/pkg
