Subject: dump and density

I've inherited a dds3 drive, and after finding an appropriate enclosure, I've
got it attached to my sparc; The kernel sees everything, and mt tells me the
correct density code. I'm using 125m (12GB) tapes, but upon running dump I see
that dump does not know the density of my tape, or, I'm guessing, the length
of it. Am I doing something wrong, or do I have to set the -d and -s flags
appropriately for each backup?

Thanks in advance.

Here's the output from my mt:

root@marzipan:p1:~ # mt status
SCSI tape drive, residual=0
ds=3<Mounted>
er=6<>
blocksize: 0 (0, 0, 0, 0)
density: 37 (0, 0, 0, 0)
current file number: 0
current block number: 0

(Density code 37 is dds3)
