My company has put me on a project to put an online account of all of our systems. This info includes hardware specs, physical location, software installed etc. I have installed IRM ( http://www.redshift.com/~yramin/irm/ ) this seems pretty close to what I need but I would like some feedback and see if anyone is doing something similar and has a product they could suggest.

Also this databse needs to account for over 200 systems and they want it up quick. This means they want me to write a perl script to query the systems and import it into the mysql database. I am not very skilled with perl so if anyone could suggest some good tutorials especially any that deal with connecting to mysql would really be appreciated. TIA.
