Pkgsrc lecture, BSD lecture, and BSD booth at LinuxFest Northwest

LinuxFest Northwest 2004, a free conference for open source users, will be
held Saturday, April 17, in Bellingham, Washington, USA. The full-day
event will provide over 35 booths and over 40 lectures covering a
wide-span of Linux, open source, and BSD skills, advocacy, and
technologies.

Notable presenters will include Rasmus Lerdorf, developer of the popular
PHP programming language; Frank Tenorio of Novell/SuSE Linux, Brian Hatch,
author of Hacking Linux Exposed; and Eric Harrison of the K12LTSP Project.

Jeremy C. Reed, a NetBSD developer, is giving a lecture about pkgsrc at
10:00 a.m. And Mark Rosnick is introducing BSD at 11:00 a.m. A BSD
advocacy booth will also be at the event.

Educational presentations will also include migrating from Windows to
Linux, tools for open source beginners, Debian Linux skills, minimal Perl
for shell users, using CVS version control system, and more.

Last year, it was estimated over 1100 fans of open source software
attended the event. The event is from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Bellingham
Technical College.
