Found that midiplay was playing out of an itsy bitsy
teeny weeny (but not yellow polka dot) speeker mounted
on the Motherboard (Intel 865PBZ) inside the cabinet
and was drowned out by all the fans.

I can't seem to find any connector to jack the system
speaker into the SBLive! card. Alas.
