I tried the NetBSD 3.99.7 netbsd-GENERIC.gz and you know what?  I got the same thing as with 2.0.2.  My dmesg:

For some reason I cannot get sip to initialize my built-in sis900 NIC.  Maybe it's because it's rev 0x91?  I saw that rev 0x90
worked.  My motherboard is an ASUS P4SP-MX, and ASUS has a RedHat sis900.c, I guess you already know that.  Anyway this is a pretty
basic problem.  How do I fix this problem?  Is my chipset (SIS 651/SIS 962) not supported?

Try booting that kernel and see how the dmesg output compares. Let me know how you go.
