Sorry about the double-post.  The first post I made yesterday, but it didn't
show.  I re-posted, since it appeared to be lost -- wouldn't ya know, they'd
both show up at once...

I only own a windows machine, plus this second system that is where I'm
trying to do the netbsd install (currently has windows xp as well, but I'm
trying to overwrite it).

Is there anything I can try with my current setup to determine the source of
the problem?

I think the Live CD comes from a third-party. I don't know what its kernel
configuration is like. I assume it is the same release of NetBSD 2.0.

Maybe you can run:

  strings /netbsd | sed -n 's/^_CFG_//p' | unvis | less

(Or does anyone know where the kernel configuration for this Live CD is?)

to see the kernel configuration. It would be nice to compare that with the
kernel configuration used for the install CD.
