Hi Al,

If your hardware dies magically, I am not sure if it helps much to switch to 
another platform. What components died in all those boxes? Are all wires 
those boxes were attached to, including modem lines, LAN links etc properly 
grounded? Any chance you might have this problem: Zinc whiskers in the data 
center, http://www.nwfusion.com/news/2004/110104widernetwhiskers.html?net ?
