I've been running with a D-Link DFE530TX (vr driver) networking card for a
long time (since 1.4 I think). It has occasionally "hung" and had to be
restarted with ifconfig down/up. As I've upgraded to 1.5, 1.6, and finally to
2.0 I've hoped that this problem would go away, but it hasn't. A quick search
of the mailing list archives indicates that this is a known problem with this
ethernet chip.
I've recently moved my normal working system upstairs from the basement. My
NetBSD fileserver is still downstairs and it is now too far away for the
ifconfig solution. ;-)
My question is: Does anyone have a recommondation for a good network card
replacement that I can buy from Best Buy/CompUSA, etc? What brand/model
should I look for?
Thanks.
