hi all,

on a just installed RC4 box (i386, my own build from CVS) pkgsrc's
postfix 2.1.5 steadily ignores SASL(2), whatever i do.

/var/log/maillog gives following lines (only the important ones):

> Oct 15 22:08:46 mcbain postfix/postfix-script: starting the Postfix
> mail system
> Oct 15 22:08:46 mcbain postfix/master[28914]: daemon started --
> version 2.1.5
> Oct 15 22:09:02 mcbain postfix/smtpd[7854]: fatal: no SASL
> authentication mechanisms
> Oct 15 22:09:03 mcbain postfix/master[28914]: warning: process
> /usr/pkg/libexec/postfix/smtpd pid 7854 exit status 1
> Oct 15 22:09:03 mcbain postfix/master[28914]: warning:
> /usr/pkg/libexec/postfix/smtpd: bad command startup -- throttling

i configured postfix for tls, pcre and sasl support -- tls and pcre are
a okay. also, i really *builds* with sasl included. the settings
regarding to sasl in main.cf are okay (the same as on the production
machine to be replaced by this one...).

/etc/mk.conf tried with POSTFIX_OPTIONS= sasl tls pcre as well
as manual editing of options.mk -- no go.

it build with sasl, but then kicks the bucket. :(

any hints? help greatly appreciated!

tia & regards,

timo
