well, I did a boot -c and found out the default settings: [159] iy0 at isa 0 port 0x360 size 0 iomem -1 iosiz 0 irq -1 drq -1 drq2 -1. I have changed the irq from -7 through to -10. I have also tried 7 through 10, and didn't yield any results. I looked at the list and found most of the non-hyphened integers in that range to be used, aside from like maybe 8. I tried setting the irq to 17 then and still didn't reap any results. I have been suggested your idea by someone else too, so I think I might try it. hopefully it works or I can figure out what's going on because I have been trying to get this machine running for a few weeks now. before I got this intel card I had a realtek in it, netbsd recognized it but it didn't work. then I tried switching it to different isa slots and netbsd stopped recognizing it altogether. thanks for the suggestion, and if anyone else has any ideas, please share them.
