I have one:

Aug 12 03:08:31 laptop /netbsd: uplcom0 at uhub1 port 1
Aug 12 03:08:31 laptop /netbsd: uplcom0: ATEN International Serial adapter,=
=20
rev 1.10/0.01, addr 3
Aug 12 03:08:31 laptop /netbsd: ucom0 at uplcom0

tip router
connected

Here's my /etc/remote:

router:dv=3D/dev/dtyU0:br#19200:pa=3Dnone:

The baudrate setting is because of the device to which I'm connecting (Soek=
ris=20
4501).

Otherwise this is the same as what you're doing. I can't connect, however, =
as=20
an ordinary user:

$ tip router
ksh: tip: cannot execute - Permission denied
