i would have used ext2fs there.

if you want to exchange information between netbsd and
linux the easier would be network with, for example, nfs :)

i have no floppy around and the laptop is a cd and floppy-less
machine so i cant answer right now (other will probably).

mm.. last thing. if you don't know differences between the
usual way of PCs to organize partitions (through fdisk) and
the bsd way of it (disklabel) you should check the netbsd guide
about it.
