NetBSD/amd64 is a completely 64bit OS, and gcc on it produces 64bit
applications by default. gcc 3.3.1 seems pretty stable on amd64
(and I should know.. I have been using gcc on amd64 ever since the
first support changes went in).
Btw, NetBSD/amd64 has been tested on a 4 CPU machine with 16G of
RAM.
