"Houston, we have problem..."

Running pkg_chk today, my home PC suddenly spat out the following in
funky green text:

wd0a: error reading fsbn 969840 of 969840-969855 (wd0 bn 969903; cn 962 tn 3 sn 18), retrying

I interrupted pkg_chk, and no more message appeared. I put the system in
single-user mode, and it seems to be stable. The complete dmesg is at
http://bjan.net/nb/dmesg-2003-09-18.txt

Should I be buying a new hard-drive now? This one is not very old (i.e.
new enough to silently remap bad sectors) but it has had a hard life.

Finally, if I need to buy a new HD, do we support Serial ATA in
-current?
