Hi,

Currently there is no package in pkgsrc for ices (www.icecast.org), a
program which streams mp3 data to an icecast server. I use ices on
MacOS X and am interested in using it under NetBSD also.

From what I can tell, someone created the audio/ices package about a
year ago, but it never made it into pkgsrc. I downloaded the package
and it seemed to build, but without Vorbis or Python support. I've also
tried building ices from source, and can get everything but Python
support working (ironically, python support is what I really want).

Has anyone built ices under NetBSD? Are there plans to create an ices
package? While it is true that the icecast folks have sort of abandoned
their version 1 software (ices/icecast) I know that a lot of people
still use icecast1, and want to use ices1 also.

If anyone knows anything at all about the status of ices under NetBSD,
please let me know.

Thanks,

-- Erik
