Of course that "precompiled" thing is the issue for many of us.
It's why rpm's just scare me (built by undocumented J Random Use, 
hope he's not evil).

Sunfreeware is fine, but they use directories and permissions I 
find wrong (/usr/local/bin/ should NOT be owned by bin- that's just bad).

No I'll take pkgsrc/ports in a second.
