This last week I read about Solarpack which will be providing a "A
repository of 1400+ pre-compiled packages of free software for Solaris
systems". It is based on pkgsrc. It is at
http://solarpack.sourceforge.net/

Also, I have been using pkgsrc for a few Linux systems since October for
all software. I am helping build a new Linux distro to be officially
released at the end of April. All of the software is based in pkgsrc. Many
new packages had to be created, for example, portmap, ppp, vixie-cron,
sysklogd, modutils, Linux (the kernel), glibc, XFree86, strace, and a lot
more. (Currently, we are getting rcorder working under Linux.)
