i'm sorry that i have an off-topic question but it is connected to
this... few days ago i asked about setting memory limits for binaries. i
got few replies recommending setting up the login.conf...

1) well, is it possible to use "unlimited" as the value in the login.conf?
2) what are the corresponding "properties" in the sysctl for setting up
the amount of heap memory available to certain process (i.e. usable by
malloc)?

maybe
proc.curproc.rlimit.memoryuse.soft
proc.curproc.rlimit.memoryuse.hard

btw, what's the most "clean" way of doing this? "redefining" sysctl, or
creating login.conf?

regards,
lubos
