An external hardware RAID is, from the OS point of view, just like a
SCSI disk, so you shouldn't need anything special.

So either the RAID has corrupted data for the superblock (but in this case
the os would probably have troubles mounting it) or there is a bug
somewhere.
how big is sd0g ?
What dump command are you using ?
What does 'fsck -fn /dev/rsd0g' say ?
