Environment:
NetBSD running on i386 with Adaptec 7890 SCSI controller and Chaparral K5412
hardware RAID controller.
Problem Description:
I'm attempting to backup a 4 drive RAID 5 array that was built on the K5412.
The drive is mounted as /dev/sd0g. Each time I've attempted to perform a dump
to a Quantum DLT7000, I've received the error message:
DUMP: bad sblock magic number
Does anyone know how I can perform a dump of the RAID partition? Does anyone
have experience with hardware RAID partitions? I've searched using the
parameters "hardware RAID dump", but I couldn't find anything useful (besides
an e-mail post by Chris Jones about using a CMD external RAID controller).
tar works fine, but the indexing features of dump is much more preferred.
Thanks,
Andrew
