I've just bought an Acer Aspire 1300 laptop. It hangs during the install
process, often at different times. It just seems to lock up. I've tried
burning 2 install CD's - both fail.

If I do an install with X, it locks up extracting xfonts. If I install
without X, it locks up making the device files. I've tried an FTP
install, and it gets through installing the sets, but locks up while
you're selecting the timezone.

An Acer Aspire 1300 has:

AMD Athlon 1.300 GHz
Via Rhine network adapter.
S3 Savage4 32M Graphics
20G Disk, CD/DVD Floppy, 256M RAM
