Greetings

I have just set up a box that now runs 1.6 (fairly standard net
install) but I have got myself a little stuck getting BIND up and
running. I get the following error in /var/log/messages:

Nov 2 18:29:08 thatch root: /etc/rc: WARNING: $named9 is not set
properly.
Nov 2 18:29:08 thatch named[113]: starting (/etc/named.conf). named
8.3.3-REL-NOESW Sun Sep 8 19:14:11 UTC 2002
autobuild@tgm.daemon.org:/autobuild/i386/OBJ/autobuild/src/usr.sbin/bi
nd/named
Nov 2 18:29:09 thatch named[113]: can't open '/etc/named.conf'
Nov 2 18:29:09 thatch named[113]: can't open '/etc/named.conf'

I can work out why it cannot open /etc/named.conf cos that does not
exist ;-) it is located at /etc/namedb/named.conf. Should I create a
symlink or is there a more elegant way of sorting that out?

What do not know how to fix is the first problem about $named9 not
being set properly. I have read _some_ of the docs without luck and
searched the archives for some reference to this error but I have not
found anything so hence this posting.

Thanks a bunch

Roger
