Hi,
I'm on an i386 arch box running 1.5.2, and my pkgsrc told me that i needed
to update my pkg_install to the latest version when I tried to install some
package. (this was the message:
escape# make install
Your package tools need to be updated to 2002/04/02 versions.
The installed package tools were last updated on 2002/02/18.
Please "make install" in ../../pkgtools/pkg_install.
*** Error code 1
Stop.
But, when I go to do this, the build fails with this error:
<snip>
cc -O2 -Werror -I/usr/pkgsrc/pkgtools/pkg_install/work/pkg_install/lib/.
./lib -DBINDIR='"/usr/sbin"' -DCHMOD='"/bin/chmod"' -DCHOWN='"/usr/sbin/cho
wn"' -DCHGRP='"/usr/bin/chgrp"' -c version.c

cd: can't cd to /usr/pkgsrc/pkgtools/pkg_install/work/pkg_install/.WAIT
*** Error code 2

*** Error code 1

*** Error code 1

Any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated :)
Oh, and the directory it is tryng to change into does not exist, it produces
a different error if I create the dir and then try to continue the build.
(see below)
escape# mkdir work/pkg_install/.WAIT
escape# make install

make: don't know how to make all. Stop

*** Error code 1
