Booting NetBSD/i386 1.5.3_RC2 via SCSI CD, I received (took notes by
hand):

scscibus0 at aha0: 8 targets, 8 luns per target
...
aha2 at isapnp0 port 0x334/4 mem 0xc8000/16384 irq 9 drq 0
aha2: aha_find failed
... configured ep1 here ...
aha0: aha_cmd, cmd/data port full
scsibus0: waiting 2 seconds for devices to settle...
probe(aha0:0:0): timed out
probe(aha0:0:0): timed out AGAIN

And it locked up here.

This is an Adaptec AHA-1540CP/1542CP BIOS v.102.

The CD was booting from NEC CD-ROM DRIVE:222 from that same SCSI
connection.

So I take out the CD and boot from the same harddisk instead into BSD/OS
4.0.1:

aha0 at isa0 iobase 0x330 irq 11 drq 5: Adaptec AHA-1540CP/1542CP rev D0
aha0: extended BIOS translation enabled
aha0: unlocked
aha0: Delaying after SCSI bus reset for device self tests 5 4 3 2 1 0
aha0: parity, bus transfer 5 Mb/s, bus on/off 11/4 us
tg0 at aha0 target 0: sync transfer period 100 ns, offset 8 (10 MB/s)
sd0 at tg0 unit 0: disk: SAMSUNG PLS-31274S rev G100 (SCSI-2) 2486520*512
tg1 at aha0 target 1: sync transfer period 100 ns, offset 8 (10 MB/s)
sd1 at tg1 unit 0: disk: SEAGATE ST39173N rev 6244 (SCSI-2) 17783240*512
tg2 at aha0 target 6: sync transfer period 100 ns, offset 8 (10 MB/s)
sr0 at tg2 unit 0: CD-ROM: NEC CD-ROM DRIVE:222 rev 3.0k (SCSI-2)
removable

Can anyone explain this "probe(aha0:0:0): timed out AGAIN"?

And suggestions?

Thanks,
